Stonewall Greensboro Summer Sand Volleyball Information
Stonewall Greensboro is an LGBT & ALLY not-for-profit league. Whether you register or not, EVERYONE is welcome to attend our games, post-game festivities, special events, and fundraisers!
Registration Fee:
STANDARD REGISTRATION (June 12th - July 13th) $40.00 - includes shirt/uniform
Registration Dates: June 12th - July 13th
Season: July 22th-September 2nd
Games: Wednesday Nights, 6:30pm-9:00pm
Location: Pinetop Sports Club: 3723 Pinetop Rd. Greensboro, NC
Teams: Minimum of 5 players, Maximum of 8 players. Minimum 3 on court, maximum of 4 on court. We would like to encourage gender diversity on teams.
Rules: Will follow USAV rules with some exceptions
Teams:
A team is formed when 5 players register and pay. Teams this season are capped at 8 players. Teams with less than 5 players should expect to receive free agents to reach a size of up to 8 players. Teams with 6 players registered will not be required to take on 2 additional players, but may be encouraged and asked by league management if there is a need. Please be aware more players on a team will result in less playing time per player. Masks will be required to be worn when off the court.
Captains:
If you plan on being the captain of a team you will need to register first and then have players register under your team name. Should you need to change who is appointed as captain you will need to email Katie Allegro at gso.volleyball@stonewallsports.org.
Players:
I plan to create a team.
If you plan to create a team you will need to register as a team captain (see above). Then you can tell your friends to register as a team player and join your team. To become one of the official new teams you must register 6 players.
I plan to join a team.
If you already know with which team you are going to play, you will need to register as a team player. Keep in mind that you can't randomly join any team; captains may ask that a player is removed from their team prior to the close of registration.
I want to play but I don't have a team.
That's fine! This league is about making new friends! Register as a Free Agent and you will be assigned to a team. ALL FREE AGENTS WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM AT THE CLOSE OF REGISTRATION.
If you were unable to make it on the team of your choice due to capacity limits or you and a friend (or a few friends) would like to be placed together, please email Katie Allegro at gso.volleyball@stonewallsports.org with the subject "RE: Volleyball Placement Request". We will do our best to honor those requests as space allows.
